EXILE: New Songs by Brecht is a limited-edition vinyl recording for voices, playback, and audio piano, featuring texts by Bertolt Brecht translated by Tom Kuhn, music by Niels Rønsholdt, and performances by Lore Lixenberg and Richard Uttley. Produced by The Voice Party and launched in Oxford in February 2026, the vinyl is available through Bandcamp, where the digital tracks may also be streamed or purchased individually or as a complete cycle.

A vocal opponent of militarism and fascism, Bertolt Brecht was driven out of Germany because of his opposition to the Nazi government. He found refuge in Denmark and, later, the United States. In exile, he wrote plays on themes of war, displacement, and populist dictatorship, as well as scores of poems, many of them reflecting on what it is to be a migrant and a refugee. EXILE brings together a selection set to music by the Danish composer Niels Rønsholdt.

The disc is dedicated to those who are still forced today by poverty, war, and conflict to leave their homes.
